We are in the process of creating a directory of Berkshire-based creative businesses featuring artists, graphic designers, musicians, writers, as well as galleries, museums and other venues for creativity.
(Much needed in my opinion – so I hope you’ll send yours along!)
Here’s to your creativity!!!
For all you artists out there visiting the Berkshire Art Kitchen blog:
I highly recommend subscribing to Lisa Canning’s ETA blog. It’s very informative and it puts into perspective valuable business concepts that are hard for many of us to grasp as artists (being a whole different language than our own intuitive and creative one). She’s talking specifically about the arts and not tech companies or calculator sales, so it may come in handy as we press on with learning the basics of structuring our professional creative careers into a sustainable business model.
Steph Campbell: LIVE @ BAK!

Back by popular demand, veteran performer and singer songwriter, Stephanie Campbell will play a second Benefit concert at BAK Saturday, December 5th at 8pm.
Steph’s bluesy folk rock style and warm stage presence won over BAK audience members when she performed in October. Moved by the authenticity of her lyrics and the contagious rhythm of her songs, Steph’s collection of original work drew people in asking for more.
Steph has shared the bill with some of the top local musicians in the Berkshires, including Vikki True, Linda Worcester and Mark Kelso. She has been on the stage with David Roth, David Grover, Bob Weiner, Robert Sean Leonard, Jon Suters and Matt Kelly. She has played several gigs with Matt Oestreicher (of Chester French) among other fine musicians.
Visit Steph’s MySpace page to hear Forgive Yourself & Johny and June .
Thank you in advance for supporting the Berkshire Art Kitchen and the Walk Unafraid anti-violence project.
Space is limited, please call 413.717.0031 to reserve a seat or take your chances and come on by!
Now through December 31st —-> SILENT ART AUCTION CONTINUES ONLINE
The silent art auction at Allium on November 1st was a great success. We raised over $4,200 for the Walk Unafraid Project. While many paintings sold (at great prices!) there are several pieces that didn’t. In addition, Gabrielle has donated two more prints to the auction! Act now – this is a rare opportunity!

Place your bids in the comments section of the specific post, or email us directly if you wish to purchase a particular work before December 31st.

The Berkshire Art Kitchen was packed last Saturday night as guests crowded in to hear the driving, sultry sounds of Trice Atchison’s voice, Lukas Schwartz on fiddle and John Clarke and John Roberts on guitars.
A new-comer to BAK (and recent transplant from New York City) stated enthusiastically, “the evening far exceeded my expectations. We’ll definitely be back!” Other music aficionados were impressed with the selection of songs – a broad range of indy, jazz, folk and alternative rock.
“The event was a great success,” states BAK Executive Director and Founder, Gabrielle Senza. “The generosity of these artists to come together to create an evening like this in support of the Art Kitchen and the Walk Unafraid project is huge. I am very very grateful to each of them for putting in the effort, time and heart.”
The evening generated over $500 in funds. Half of the funds will be used to support BAK’s mission to present unique opportunities for creativity, connection and change; the other half will support the Walk Unafraid Worldwide campaign to empower survivors of abuse and educate communities around the globe to recognize and prevent physical, sexual and emotional abuse through innovative public art projects.
“Abuse effects everybody, whether we experience it first hand, or are intimate with someone who has. We all know someone who has experienced abuse ” Gabrielle continues. “That is why so many people like these musicians, are willing to come forward and help move the effort along. We need more people to step up and break the silence.”
Coming up at BAK on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 8 pm
An evening of music featuring an eclectic collection of songs and styles, from blues and jazz to rock and alternative featuring:
Trice Atchison, Vocals
John Clarke, Guitar and Vocals
John Roberts, Guitar and Vocals
Lukas Schwartz, Fiddle
Tickets are $20 at the door or $15 in advance.
Proceeds support the Walk Unafraid anti-violence public awareness project.
Walk Unafraid Worldwide is committed to empowering survivors and communities to recognize and prevent physical, sexual and emotional abuse through powerful anti-violence awareness programs and collaborative public art initiatives designed for anyone to do—including community groups, schools, universities, businesses, gyms, church groups and youth organizations around the world.
